More colour studies

We have so many choices available to us with colour. The following examples show the options in hair, skin tone, clothing colour and clothing design.

Experience tells me, and with our target market in mind, we need something bold and readable that appeals to the eye. Simplicity also translates far better into moving images when we get there.

Examples of this that are well know include: Charlie Brown, Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes, Bart Simpson and Dora. Simple colours that speak to the character and the characters surroundings.

Anyway, some colour to mull over...

  1. So, this little girl was the one I liked the best when I looked at it all first. I like the skin & hair colours of the girl in the top row in the middle (hair could be slightly lighter or stick with the dark brown). I also like the clothes on the girl in the bottom right. Although this was originally my first pick, I wonder if going with a character with 'eyes' would be easier to draw some emotions into the pictures since there aren't any in the text.

  2. Actually, now that I look at them all together, I actually like the colours of the clothing of all 4 on the right side (middle & right columns) - probably the skin & hair tones of the top middle the best and clothing colours of the other three...
